September 8 – The Day Macedonia Chose Its Own Path 🇲🇰

On September 8, 1991, the people of Macedonia chose their own path.

Through the referendum in which an overwhelming majority voted for an independent and sovereign state, Macedonia took a historic step toward independence.

But independence is more than a date on the calendar.

It is a story about people, about the generations before us and the generations yet to come. It is about the land we call home. About language, traditions, culture and customs that we preserve and pass on.

And perhaps it is in these everyday things that we feel most deeply what it means to have a country of our own.

In vineyards that bear fruit year after year.

In the hands of the people who work the land.

In family recipes, stories and traditions.

In a glass of wine raised in celebration of good days to come.

As a family winery from Kavadarci, we are proud that our story grows right here – in the heart of the Tikveš wine region, a land with a long and rich winemaking tradition.

Today, we raise a glass to Macedonia, to its future, and to all the people who build it every day through their work, dedication and perseverance.

Independence Lives Through Generations

Every celebration has its date, but its true meaning is something we carry with us.

For some, September 8 is a reminder of a historic day. For others, it is a symbol of freedom and independence. For us, it is also a reminder that the future is created every day – through the work we do, the choices we make and the values we leave behind.

Macedonia is a land of diverse landscapes, traditions and stories. From its mountains and fields to the vineyards of Tikveš, every part of the country carries something of its own.

And behind every harvest, there is a person.

Someone who works the land. Someone who preserves what has been passed down. Someone who continues a family tradition.

That is why, when we raise a glass to Macedonia today, we are not only celebrating what we have inherited.

We are also raising a glass to everything we are yet to create.

For our family, that means our vineyards and our wine. It means knowledge passed from one generation to another, a connection to the land, and the desire for every new harvest to become another chapter in our family story.
